Michael Cockrell's Biography

"I have always had a love of nature and the beauty of the Southwest.
Growing up in the Four Corners area of New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado
exposed me to the wide diversities of Southwest beauty. Working in the oil, tourism,
and aircraft industries has presented opportunities to travel and enjoy the immense
beauty this country and the world offers. Now living in the Northwest I enjoy a totally
new array of beauty.
I have loved photography all my life , but only since 1995 have I been seriously
photographing my experiences. I try to express the beauty I see in all my photographs
and I hope you will experience the same beauty as you visit our gallery.
I believe the beauty of a photograph is captured in the experience. The camera is the
instrument you use to record it."

Sue Cockrell's Biography

" I have studied art since childhood, growing up in Iowa where I earned my
B.A. in Art Education. Moving to Colorado to teach high school I definitely
became a "pointylander" upon gazing at the incredible Rocky Mountains.
Migrating to Washington state in the mid-70's, I studied art in graduate school,
taught public school, and made a major move to homeschool consulting.
Working in oils and watercolors first, and now adding photography, I have increased
my experience and field of reference for studies in nature. There is nothing better
than being out slogging around in the Great Out doors with camera gear,
composing images, and learning about our natural world."

We hope to give you a unique view of some of our favorite places and
wildlife we find fascinating in our part of the country.

Both Michael and Sue have become "serious" about nature
photography in the last four years, spending as much time as possible
"out in the field"-hiking in the mountains, trudging through dense forests,
and jeeping around in hot deserts all in the name of fun and photography.
